Some of the very first punk shows I went to were at City Gardens in Trenton. This hole-in-the-wall holds a special place in my heart. And this year, the venue that has been shuttered for 20 years finally got some of the credit it deserves in Steve Tozzi's documentary "Riot on the Dance Floor: The Story of City Gardens and Randy Now." It won the Viewer's Choice Award at the Lighthouse Film Festival in June. The film was buoyed by the visceral photos of our good friend, Ken Salerno. I got to sit in on some of the interviews and catch early screenings. You can find my review of "Riot on the Dance Floor," in the Aquarian Weekly.
