The Jetty Coquina Jam has always meant a lot to me and I have been the announcer from the very first year when it was a little weeknight contest up in Harvey Cedars in 2009. For the last decade, the money raised has gone to David’s Dream & Believe Cancer Foundation, who directly distributes funds to families in our area battling a cancer diagnosis.

I’ve been working with Jetty on a video series, part of their Craft & Calling project. In this one, we had a panel of four local women waveriders who have helped define this event – Mary Tantillo, Sammy Jo Alvarez, Amalie Werner and Devon Taylor. We wanted to put the women out front to tell their own stories and speak to how important this event is.
